How One-Way Mirror Film Works

One-way mirror film, also called reflective privacy film, works on a simple optical principle: light travels from the brighter side to the darker side of the glass. During the day, the sun-lit exterior is brighter than your interior, so the reflective surface acts as a mirror to anyone outside. From inside, you look through the film toward the bright exterior and see a clear, slightly tinted view.
